Fitness Classes For Kids
Get your kids started on a lifelong affinity for fitness with Ida Lee’s Kids’ Fitness Classes! Our programs offer fun, recreational fitness programs for all kids from tots to teens. These programs build strong bodies while kids have a blast! Here are some of the kids’ fitness classes that we offer throughout the year. Please see our Leesburg at Leisure for the currently scheduled classes.

Kids in Motion Two Kids Jumping Jack on ball
(Ages 4-5 & 6-10) This class will get kid’s hearts pumping and muscles moving. Balance, coordination, strength, and cardiovascular fitness will improve with age appropriate activities like crazy circuit training, musical steps, and outrageous obstacle courses. All fitness levels welcome!

Physical Education for Kids
(Ages 4-7 & 8-14) In this class kids will learn about sportsmanship, teamwork, and the enjoyment of physical activity. Kids will play their way to a healthier body through soccer, volleyball, basketball, kickball, plus a few non-traditional games. This class will be based in the gym, but may be outside when the weather permits.

Weight Training for Teens
(Ages 12-16) This basic resistance training course introduces proper strength training and lifting techniques. Safety rules, proper use of equipment, and concepts of lifting will be emphasized. Students will learn how to design their own program with emphasis on muscle strengthening, muscular endurance, and weight management.

Youth Weight Room Certification
(Ages 12-15) If you are ages 12 to 15 and are serious about looking better, feeling better, getting stronger and healthier, GET CERTIFIED!!! In this class you will learn the rules of the fitness room and how to use the free weights and cardio machines. Students will also learn how to design their own program with emphasis on muscle strengthening, muscular endurance, and weight management. Youths with a certification card on file may workout in the fitness center unsupervised. In order to take this class you must pre-register at least 3 days before and you must attend all four sessions. 4, 60-minute classes.

 Parent & Toddler Yoga
(Ages 10-36 months) Spend quality time with your child in this active yoga class for crawling and walking toddlers. As your toddler’s mobility increases, classes offer poses that encourage and support their physical explorations. Crawlers and walkers playfully practice yoga postures while they are standing, sitting, walking, and jumping. Parents also get to do a little yoga, but no yoga experience is required.

Parent & Child Yoga: Explore the World with Yoga
(Ages 3-5) Explore the world around you in this fun, energetic yoga class for children and their parent. Some classes may take you to explore a different part of the world like the ocean, desert, rainforest, or African safari. Children will learn basic yoga poses that will enhance flexibility, balance, coordination, self-esteem, and enlightenment to the world around them.

Kids Yoga
(Ages 6-11) Kids yoga can build physical health and mental well-being. Kids will learn basic yoga poses that develop coordination, strength and flexibility which can carry over into their sports and other activities. Focus and concentration improve, which can benefit school work and other learning tasks. The ability to relax helps strengthen the immune system and can enhance kid’s mental outlook.

Teen Yoga
(Ages 12-16) Yoga can improve physical health and mental well-being by teaching teens to relax, de-stress, and improve focus and concentration. Yoga also develops strength and flexibility, keeping you looking and feeling great!
