- AIRPORT OPEN HOUSE: This year's event was fantastic! Thanks to all of you who helped and made this event possible! Everything from the B-17 folks to parking to ramp control to Tom's utube show was handled professionally and the airport staff has received many compliments on the open house. Onward and upward for next year. See you then.
- The South Apron:
- The asphalt tie-downs are finished and we are now accepting aircraft. If interested please call Jackie Seipel at 703-737-7125.
- Corporate Hangars, 55.6 X 52 - 16' door open height, available late fall/early winter 2009. "Letter of Intent" and deposit required. Contact airport administration for availability, first come first serve basis.
- The ILS:
- The Glideslope grading portion is going out to bid the end of this month.
- Once the ILS is complete we will then get a grant in place to update our ODALS, REILS and our PAPIs and to update and move our AWOS out to the Glideslope area. When the ILS is complete we will have to shut down the PAPI on the ILS runway as it will not be co-located with the ILS touch down point. That is why we need to go under grant to move it and update the units as well (they are old).
- We are proceeding with the acquiring of the land in the approach end of runway 17. This is in the runway protection zone.
- Nothing to report on the SFRA except please read the FAA NOTAM prior to arrival or departure.
- As you might have noticed the Town has gone through a major update of all their websites and ours is no acception. Please be patient as we also update our info.
- Access Gates: we are about to avertise and bid out this project. We could see construction very soon. I'll keep you posted.
