The Traffic Management Division is dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient mobility of Leesburg drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
The Traffic Management Division is also responsible for performing engineering studies and field investigations related to a variety of functions including traffic counts, street lighting, signage, parking and neighborhood cut-through truck traffic, as well as overseeing the parking permit program. Operations include traffic signal engineering, construction and operations; traffic signal timing and coordination; maintaining communications to all traffic signals through the Advance Traffic Management System to ensure timely travel within the Town; and the installation of all new traffic control signs and pavement markings.
With the numerous traffic control devices throughout the Town, the Traffic Division welcomes comments and concerns from Town employees as well as the general public to help us identify potential problems or areas for improvements.
The Transportation Division also manages the Town's Adopt-a-Street Program, which offers volunteer opportunities to assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of public right-of-ways adjacent to Town roads.
